DR. RICHARD KAKIGI received his Ph.D. in statistics from the University of California at Berkeley in 1972. He is currently an Emeritus Professor in the Department of Statistics at California State University, Hayward, where he has taught graduate and undergraduate courses in data analysis, non-parametric methods, regression analysis, sample surveys, probability theory, queuing theory, simulation methods, and design of statistical software since 1973. He has also held full time faculty positions at the University of California, Berkeley and Indiana University, Bloomington.

As a principal partner in the statistical consulting firm of Drogin, Kakigi & Associates for over twenty years, he has been retained to design and collect sample surveys, access and utilize census demographic data, organize and manage large database systems, develop and analyze complex stochastic models, and provide expert witness testimony.
